Kate Cayley is a celebrated Canadian writer, playwright, and poet known for her inventive works in fiction, poetry, and theatre. She graduated with a BA (Hons.) in Contemporary Studies and Theatre from King’s University College, where early productions honed her skills. Her career includes residencies at Tarragon Theatre and collaborations with Zuppa Theatre, producing acclaimed plays like The Archive of Missing Things. She has held writer-in-residence roles at institutions such as McMaster University and mentored emerging writers through programs like the University of Guelph’s MFA. Her accolades include the Trillium Book Award for How You Were Born and the Geoffrey Bilson Award for Historical Fiction. Cayley’s work explores themes of memory, identity, and human experience through genres ranging from short stories to immersive theatre. She currently resides in Toronto with her family.
