Dr. Katarzyna Rydz-Sybilak serves as a lecturer at the Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminology within the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Lodz. She has been a research and teaching staff member since 2008, establishing herself as an expert in criminal justice systems with dual academic and practical legal experience.
Her academic journey began with doctoral studies at the University of Lodz's Faculty of Law and Administration, culminating in her 2011 doctoral dissertation defense titled 'Auxiliary Liability in Fiscal Criminal Law' under Professor Tomasz Grzegorczyk's supervision.
Dr. Rydz-Sybilak's research focuses on criminal justice systems with particular emphasis on:
- Criminal procedure frameworks and fiscal criminal law
- Implementation of the Act on Support and Resocialization of Minors
- Comparative juvenile justice systems
- Petty offenses legislation and practice
- Forensic applications in criminal proceedings
- Legal education methodologies
Her international academic contributions include Erasmus+ teaching engagements at law faculties in Budapest, Brno, Pavia, and Vilnius, which she considers among her most significant professional achievements.
As an active legal practitioner since 2010, she brings real-world courtroom experience to her teaching of practical classes including seminars, courtroom sessions, and case studies, having previously completed her legal training at the District Bar Council (2005-2009).
