Katarzyna Laskowska is a Professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Design, University of Arts in Poznań (UAP), and a renowned artist, designer, and researcher. She designs spatial objects and performances exhibited internationally, focusing on themes like common ground in communication, slow movement, and the epistemology of small living spaces. Her work explores the experimental use of soft materials, embroidery, and reuse concepts in art.
- Education: Studied Interior Architecture and Design at UAP (1988–1993) and Archaeology/Art History at Sorbonne University (1983–1985).
- Career Highlights: Head of Studio of Educational, Design Programs and Cooperation with Industry (2022–present); Visiting Professor at TEC and Centro Diseño, Cine y Televisión, Mexico City (2004–2021).
Her artistic practice, such as the Group Affiliation Shell performances (2024), investigates collective experiences through shared garments/fabric. Recent exhibitions include The Art of Survival (2021), documenting trees' adaptation to urban spaces, and Stories Written with a Needle (2024). She contributes to creative industries via National/Regional Smart Specialisation groups (since 2014).
