Dr. Michał Bartkowiak is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Interior Design and Scenography of the University of Arts in Poznań (UAP), where he has worked since 2010. He also serves as Head of the Design Communication Techniques Department since 2023 and Head of the 1st Design Drawing Studio since 2018.
- Education: PhD in Design Arts (2018) and studies in Interior Architecture (2005–2010) at UAP
- Role: Co-founder of the Basta Designs team
His research and artistic work focuses on Interior Architecture and Industrial Design, with a strong emphasis on detail-oriented projects. His notable works include residential and public spaces like the Florentin Apartment (2022), Lemongrass Apartment (2022), and the urban furniture project City Alphabet (2013).
In terms of publications, Bartkowiak has co-authored monographs such as Man-Suffering (2019), Human Anatomy in the Bible (2016), and Man-Bible-Art (2014), blending design, art, and religious themes.
Scientific and Cultural Awards:
- Medal for the Centenary of the University of Arts (2019)
- Honorable Mention for the best popular science book (Mayor of Poznań, 2015)
- Finalist of 'Top Design 2013' and 'Good Design 2013' competitions (2013)
- Special Award by the Marshal of Wielkopolska Voivodeship (2011)
- Finalist of the International Review of 'Graduated Projects' (2010)
He has participated in collective exhibitions such as Synthesis – Locally (2023) and Medal of the Cross of the Archdiocesan Museum (2021). His work spans completed projects in Poland and Italy, including the Salone del Mobile in Milan (2012, 2013).
