Kassandra Robicheau is a Tutor in the Department of English at Vancouver Island University (VIU) while pursuing her MA degree at Dalhousie University. Her academic journey at VIU began with a BA (Honours) in English, where she developed a passion for literary analysis and disability theory.

Kassandra’s research focuses on disability representation in media, particularly in the Black Mirror series. Her award-winning essay, Invisible yet Omnipresent: The Future of Disability as Reflected in Black Mirror, examines how disability is portrayed as a looming threat while being systematically erased in the show. This work intersects with her broader interests in science fiction, critical theory, and audiovisual text analysis.
She received the 2021-2022 Essay Contest Winner award in the Upper-level Category for her contributions to literary discourse. As a tutor, she emphasizes accessibility and mentorship, encouraging peers to engage in volunteer programs.
