Kasper Kok

Kasper Kok is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth Systems and Global Change at Wageningen University & Research. His research focuses on climate change, environmental policy, and scenario analysis, with a particular emphasis on Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs) and their applications in addressing sustainability challenges. He has contributed to projects on land use planning, ecosystem services, and climate policy in regions such as the Netherlands and the Philippines.

His work includes developing future land use maps for the Netherlands, analyzing climate change mitigation strategies, and exploring co-designed interventions to address agricultural drought impacts. He has supervised numerous PhD candidates and co-led projects funded by grants totaling over €5 million.

Kok received the Best paper prize 2019 in Landscape Research, recognizing his contributions to cognitive mapping and spatial analysis. His research bridges environmental science with policy, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to global change challenges.
