Professor Kashem Muttaqi is a Distinguished Professor and Discipline Leader in Electrical Engineering at the University of Wollongong (UOW), leading the Australian Research Council Industrial Transformation Training Centre (ARC Future Grids ITTC) and the Australian Power and Energy Research Institute (APERI). He holds roles such as Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications and Executive Board Member of IEEE Industry Applications Society.
Education:
- B.Sc., Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (1993)
- M.Eng.Sc., Electrical Engineering, University of Malaya (1996)
- Ph.D., Electrical Engineering, Multimedia University (2001)
Research Interests: Focuses on renewable energy systems, smart grids, distributed generation, solid-state transformers, and electric vehicle technologies. His work addresses challenges in grid resilience, energy storage, and renewable integration.

Grants & Advising:
- Lead the ARC Future Grids ITTC ($5M funding, 2022–2027)

Labs & Initiatives: Directs APERI and the ARC Future Grids ITTC, advancing research in clean energy and grid technologies. Collaborates globally through IEEE and industry partnerships.
