Karolina Prawda is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Information and Communications Engineering at Aalto University. She holds a Master's degree in Engineering and Technology from AGH University of Science and Technology (2017) and a Doctor of Technology (Tekn. toht.) in Electrical Engineering from Aalto University (2022). Her research focuses on audio signal processing, acoustics, and reverberation, with a particular emphasis on feedback delay networks, impulse response optimization, and acoustic measurements.
Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to quality education and innovation. Key research areas include artificial reverberation algorithms, dataset creation for acoustic analysis, and improving sound quality in virtual environments. She has developed open-source tools like the FLAMO library and contributed to datasets such as the Arni room impulse responses and multi-room transition datasets.
Dr. Prawda has been recognized with the Best Paper Award at DAFx-23 (2023) and has engaged in academic activities including teaching at the Autumn School Series in Acoustics and visiting research collaborations at institutions like Aalborg University. Her work has been highlighted in media for advancements in sauna acoustics and acoustic measurement techniques.
