Dr. Karolina Krystyniak is an Associate Professor of Finance at Ontario Tech University’s Faculty of Business and Information Technology. Her research focuses on institutional investor behavior, credit ratings, cryptocurrency markets, and capital structure dynamics. She holds a PhD in Finance from Baruch College (CUNY) and a CFA Charter. Before academia, she worked in global consulting firms.
Dr. Krystyniak teaches courses including Financial Econometrics, Corporate Finance, and Investments. Her work emphasizes experiential learning and universal design principles to ensure equitable education. She actively promotes CFA certifications among students and collaborates with the CFA Society. Her research has been published in top journals and presented globally, including at the Eastern Finance Association and European Finance Association.
Dr. Krystyniak leads SSHRC-funded projects such as 'Government Real Estate Interventions and the Stock Market' (SSHRC Small Grant) and 'Stock-level Investor Sentiment During Pandemics' (SSHRC Insight Development Grant). She advocates for equity and inclusion, particularly for individuals with disabilities, through formal and informal initiatives.
