Karolina Jara

Karolina Jara is a Scientific Associate at the Institute of Architecture, Mainz University of Applied Sciences since 2018, concurrently pursuing doctoral research at the University of Wrocław.

• Master of Arts in Art History from University of Wrocław (2013), thesis: "The Synagogue on the Anger in Wrocław (1865–1872) and its Architect Edwin Oppler (1831–1880)" supervised by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Agnieszka Zabłocka-Kos
• Doctoral candidate at University of Wrocław since 2014 researching "Architecture and Urban Planning in Silesia during the Third Reich"

Her research specializes in 19th-20th century architectural history with distinct focus on Jewish religious architecture—particularly synagogue design—and National Socialist era urban planning impacts. She integrates historical scholarship with digital methodologies, exemplified by her leadership in reconstructing Wrocław's synagogues through computational techniques.

She supervises the third-party funded project "The Synagogue on the Anger in the Context of Three Religious Communities: Digital Reconstruction and Documentation of the Wrocław Synagogue" at AI MAINZ, directing interdisciplinary teams in digital heritage preservation through advanced 3D modeling and archival analysis.
