Karol Kasprowicz

Karol Kasprowicz is a Lecturer at the Department of Computer Law and Legal Professions, Faculty of Law and Administration, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin, Poland. He is also a historian, translator, and co-founder/director of the spin-off Historical Imagination Lab, focusing on digital history and educational technology projects. His interdisciplinary work bridges traditional historiography with emerging technologies like virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and artificial intelligence (AI).

The Interactive Historical Atlas project, funded by Poland’s Minister of Science and Higher Education, includes 30 digital maps, 78 time capsules, and multimedia resources for students and educators. Kasprowicz’s scholarship interrogates how digital tools reshape historical inquiry and democratize access to historical knowledge. His work also explores philosophical questions about free will, drawing on thinkers like Hannah Arendt and Daniel Dennett, while situating these debates within neuroscience and contemporary social theory.
