Karlyn Mitchell

Karlyn Mitchell is an Associate Professor of Finance at the Poole College of Management, North Carolina State University. Her research focuses on corporate finance, entrepreneurial finance, financial markets, and monetary policy. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Michigan (1982).

Her academic work explores topics such as the trade credit channel in monetary policy, forecasting accuracy during pandemics, and the impact of unconventional monetary policies. She has also investigated lending technologies, minority access to small-business loans, and the behavior of professional forecasters in relation to Okun’s Law and Taylor Rule adherence.
