Karissa Marble-Flint

Dr. Karissa Marble-Flint is an Associate Professor and MA CSD (SLP) Program Coordinator at Wichita State University's Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders within the College of Health Professions. She holds a PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders (Wichita State University, 2017), an M.S.Ed. in Speech-Language Pathology (University of Nebraska at Kearney, 2010), and a B.A. in Special Education (Hastings College, 2007). Her research focuses on language-literacy development in children, particularly those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and the application of technology in assessment and intervention. She directs the Literacy in Kansas (LinKS) Lab at the Evelyn Hendren Cassat Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic.

Dr. Marble-Flint's work includes developing the Summer Literacy Camp program to address literacy gaps and co-directing the Center for Educational Technologies to Assist Refugee Learners (CETARL). She has secured over $100k in grants for projects such as dual-language literacy initiatives for refugee families and technology-enhanced interventions for neurodiverse populations. Awards include ASHA's ACE Program recognition and Wichita State's Research Award.
