Karishma Kumari

Karishma Kumari is a Ph.D. student and Graduate Research Assistant at the Raven Precision Agriculture Center, South Dakota State University, affiliated with the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences and the Department of Agronomy, Horticulture and Plant Science. Her research focuses on precision agriculture, plant science, and sensor technology, with recent publications exploring AI-driven crop disease detection, climate-smart agriculture, and deep learning applications for seed classification.

• Education: Ph.D. in Plant Science (current, South Dakota State University), Master of Technology in Agricultural Engineering (ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi), Bachelor of Technology in Agricultural Engineering (Dr. R.P.C.A.U, Pusa).

Her work integrates sensor development, remote sensing, and machine learning for sustainable agricultural solutions, including real-time disease monitoring and IoT-enabled farming systems. She has received recognition for her academic excellence, securing 8th all India ranks in two competitive examinations.
