Karina Gritsenko

Karina Gritsenko, M.D., is a Professor in the Departments of Anesthesiology, Family and Social Medicine, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She serves as Program Director for the ACGME-accredited Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine Fellowship and Educational Director for the Acute Pain and Regional Anesthesiology residency rotations. Her primary affiliation is with Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY.

Education: She earned her MD from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (2006), followed by an internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, and fellowship in pain medicine at a tri-institutional program including Weill Cornell, Hospital of Special Surgery, and Memorial Sloan Kettering.

Research & Clinical Focus: Dr. Gritsenko specializes in chronic pain, regional anesthesiology, and acute pain medicine. Her work emphasizes systems of care development, cancer pain management, perioperative pain, spinal cord stimulation, and substance abuse in pain contexts. She is also dedicated to medical education and mentorship, training residents and fellows in regional anesthesia techniques and pain management.
