Karin Kogermann is a Professor in Physical Pharmacy at the Institute of Pharmacy, University of Tartu, where she leads her research group. Her career spans integrated pharmacy education at UT, a PhD in physical pharmacy from the University of Helsinki, and postdoctoral work in biotechnology at UT Institute of Technology. She has secured multiple Estonian Research Council grants and serves on committees for the European Pharmacopoeia Commission and Estonian Medicines Agency.

Her research bridges physical pharmacy and antibacterial therapy, focusing on solid-state drug analysis (amorphous dispersions, electrospun systems) and infection models. She develops antimicrobial nanofibers for wound therapy, studying how material properties affect biological activity. Her 15 most recent articles highlight innovations in electrospinning, 3D printing, and biorelevant assays for infection models.
