Karin Kämpfe

Karin Kämpfe is a Professor in the Department of Social Pedagogy and Early Childhood Education at Pädagogische Hochschule Schwäbisch Gmünd since 2021. Her research focuses on childhood and migration studies, educational inequality, and language development in early education, with expertise in qualitative social research methods.

• Education: B.A. in Intercultural European/American Studies (Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg), M.A. in International Migration and Intercultural Relations (University of Osnabrück), Ph.D. in Educational Science (University of Kassel, 2017).

Recent research explores language support in migration societies, institutional cooperation between families/schools, and educational professionalism. Key projects include RECOdE (Erasmus-funded) and Gesundheit und Bildungsteilhabe (Bertelsmann Stiftung). Her work emphasizes participatory approaches with children and families.

Collaborations span Goethe University Frankfurt, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, and BMBF-funded initiatives. She is active in the German Educational Science Association (DGfE) and German Sociological Association (DGS), advocating for equity in early education systems.
