Karin Hageneder

Karin Hageneder is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Music, Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna (since 2024), where she teaches recorder and flute. She concurrently works with the Upper Austrian State Music School Association. Previously, she served as a substitute teacher at the Joseph Haydn Conservatory in Eisenstadt (2015-2016) and taught at music schools across Lower Austria, Vienna, and Burgenland.

Her educational background includes:

• Master of Arts in Recorder from Munich University of Music and Performing Arts (2021)
• Bachelor of Music in Recorder from Amsterdam Conservatorium (2012)
• Bachelor of Arts (with distinction) in Recorder and Flute from Anton Bruckner Private University (2009)

Her research focuses on historical performance practices, particularly Renaissance and Baroque repertoire for recorder and flute, with specialization in ensemble interpretation and pedagogical approaches for early music instruments.

Honors include being selected as 'Talent in Residence' at Carinthia's Trigonale Early Music Festival in 2010. She regularly serves as a juror for the Prima la Musica national competition.

She performs professionally with ensembles Fiori Musicali Austria (baroque music) and Klangkuss (educational concerts), and previously performed with The Royal Wind Music. Her international performances include concerts across Europe, Australia, and Asia with orchestras including Bruckner Orchestra Linz and Vienna State Opera.
