Karin Bodensteiner

Professor Karin Bodensteiner serves in the Biology Department at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point since 2007, holding a professorship while actively contributing to campus initiatives through the Institutional Biosafety Committee and Bee Campus Committee. UWSP maintains certification as the sole Bee Campus in the UW System under her environmental stewardship.

Her educational foundation includes:

• Ph.D. in Reproductive Physiology from Colorado State University
• M.S. in Endocrinology and Reproductive Physiology from University of Wisconsin-Madison
• B.S. in Biology from Luther College

Research centers on mammalian reproductive mechanisms, specifically ovarian folliculogenesis dynamics and neuroendocrine behavior regulation. Her work investigates physiological consequences of early-life interventions using rodent models, bridging laboratory findings with ecological conservation applications through pollinator habitat projects.
