Kari Hoppu is a Professor at the Department of Accounting, Aalto University. His research spans foundational and contemporary legal domains, including Contract and Tort Law, Securities Law, and Marketing Law, with current focus on Smart Contracts and Contract Types. He has been recognized for his contributions to legal education with multiple Helsinki School of Economics Teacher of the Year awards (1998, 2000, 2004, 2016) and an award for excellent teaching skills (2000).
