Kari Hansen Berg is an Associate Professor at the Department of Psychosocial Health at the University of Agder. Her research focuses on patient quality of life, particularly in chronic conditions such as axial spondyloarthritis and endometriosis, with an emphasis on sexual health and patient communication. She is affiliated with research groups Q-safe (Patient Safety and Quality in Hospitals) and ReSex (Research in Sexology).
Her work explores the interplay between disease variables, demographic factors, and health-related outcomes. Notable studies include longitudinal analyses of sexual quality of life in axial spondyloarthritis patients and meta-syntheses on pain communication in endometriosis. She has contributed to understanding the role of biologic treatments on long-term patient outcomes.
