Karetsos Sotirios

Sotirios T. Karetsos is an Assistant Professor at the Informatics Laboratory of the Agricultural Economics & Rural Development Department at the Agricultural University of Athens. His work spans academic teaching, research in internet-based information systems, and collaboration in European Commission projects.

• PhD in Informatics, Agricultural University of Athens

His research focuses on the design and implementation of information systems for digital services, including e-commerce, e-government, and e-learning applications in agriculture. He specializes in social network analysis, mobile app development, and business process modeling in the digital economy. His work is applied to agricultural policy and rural development through systems modeling and technological innovation.

Karetsos has contributed to over 60 scientific publications and reports for the European Commission. He teaches courses on Management Information Systems and E-Commerce, emphasizing the integration of technology, organization, and management in information systems. He has served as a Seconded National Expert at the European Commission's Joint Research Center in Italy and as a Researcher at the Agricultural University of Athens, participating in funded projects related to digital transformation in agriculture.
