Karena Rush

Dr. Karena Rush is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychology at Millersville University. She holds an A.B. in Psychology from Bryn Mawr College, an M.Ed. in Education and Developmental Psychology (Harvard University), and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a Child concentration (Louisiana State University). Her work focuses on assessments and interventions for children with autism, intellectual disabilities, and social skills deficits, as well as leveraging toys and games for skill development.

Dr. Rush has extensive clinical experience, including roles at the Kennedy Krieger Institute (Johns Hopkins School of Medicine) and Sheppard Pratt Hospital, where she developed behavioral programs for children with severe behavior disorders and dual diagnoses. Her research emphasizes practical, child-centered approaches to addressing developmental challenges.

Her office is located in Susan P. Luek Hall 214C, and she offers virtual office hours via Zoom. Professional development activities include contributions to clinical training and program development in neuropsychological settings.
