Karen Xie is an Associate Professor of Operations and Information Management at the University of Connecticut's School of Business. Her research focuses on algorithms/AI, platform economics, and market design, with notable contributions to peer-to-peer market regulation and sharing economy dynamics. She has advised government agencies like the Denver City Council on short-term rental policies and co-founded HomeLab Technologies, an algorithm-driven vacation rental investment firm managing a multi-million portfolio.
Education: PhD from Temple University Fox School of Business, M.Phil from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Bachelor's from Fudan University. Former analyst at Accenture.
