Karen Skinner

Karen Skinner serves as Associate Director for Public Services at the Wise Law Library and Assistant Teaching Professor at the University of Colorado Law School, joining the institution in summer 2024. She oversees faculty services, student outreach, and instructional departments as part of the library's administrative leadership.

Her academic background includes:

• Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and International Studies from The Ohio State University
• Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School
• Master of Science in Sport Management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst
• Master of Science in Library Science from Indiana University at Bloomington

Skinner's expertise centers on legal research methodologies and law librarianship, with interdisciplinary perspectives from criminology and international law informing her approach to legal information systems. Her teaching focuses on legal research instruction across multiple courses annually.

Prior to her current role, she spent 14 years at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law as Senior Law Librarian for Research Services and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Law, where she managed the first-year legal research curriculum.
