Karen Schweitzer serves as a Staff Lecturer at Mount Holyoke College within the Professional and Graduate Education (PaGE) program. With 33 years of classroom experience, she has taught kindergarten through eighth grade, currently specializing in third-grade mathematics education at Anne T. Dunphy School for the past 26 years.
Her academic credentials include:
- M.A. in Mathematics Teaching (Leadership Concentration) from Mount Holyoke College
- B.A. in Early Childhood Education from University of Massachusetts Amherst
Schweitzer pioneers research in early mathematics cognition, demonstrating how primary students engage with complex mathematical concepts through collaborative problem-solving and conceptual exploration.
