Karen Mitchell, PhD, is Associate Professor and Assistant Department Chair of Psychology at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. She earned her doctorate from Kent State University and leads the Memory and Cognition (MaC) Laboratory.
Research focuses on human memory, cognitive neuroscience, source monitoring, and episodic memory, with applications to eyewitness testimony, emotion, aging, and psychopathology. She teaches Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Laboratory, and Senior Seminar courses.
Her publications emphasize neurocognitive mechanisms of memory, with recent work exploring generalizability in psychology, age-related memory differences, and neural correlates of vivid recollection.
