Karen McClellan is a Lecturer in Management at Stanford Graduate School of Business with expertise in climate finance and decarbonization technologies. Her career spans institutional capital deployment for climate infrastructure, including roles as Head of Climate Investment for The Lemos Group and advisor to hydrogen fuel cell companies.
McClellan's research examines carbon market mechanisms, renewable energy financing in emerging economies, and climate technology innovation. She has deployed over £700 million in climate investments and developed 220MW of wind energy projects in Brazil.
Publications analyze carbon trading frameworks, Clean Development Mechanism financing, and climate investment barriers. Recent policy contributions include advisory work for Prince Charles' Sustainable Markets Initiative and UNDP climate finance strategies.
