Karen Graves is a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing at the Faculty of Health, Education and Society, University of Northampton. A Registered Mental Health Nurse, she specializes in nursing education and practice development, with a focus on forensic mental health and suicide prevention.
- MSc in Practice Education
- Stage 4 NMC Teacher qualification
- Doctorate in Professional Practice
Her teaching spans pre-registration nursing, BSc Top-Up modules, and postgraduate Practice Education programs. Previously, she worked at St Andrew’s Healthcare in medium-secure mental health services for women with forensic histories, personality disorders, and eating disorders, and contributed to healthcare governance through clinical audit and quality assurance.
She currently facilitates Suicide First Aid training and is finalizing a journal article based on her doctoral research.
