Karen E. Park is a Professor of Theology and Religious Studies at St. Norbert College's Schneider School, where she has been a faculty member since 2008. Her work bridges literary and artistic expressions of faith with theological inquiry.
- B.A. in English Literature from Lawrence University
- M.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Chicago Divinity School
- Ph.D. in History of Christianity from the University of Chicago Divinity School
Karen’s research focuses on the History of Christianity, particularly American Catholicism, sacred space, and material religion. She analyzes how Marian shrines and devotional practices reflect cultural and theological meaning-making.
Her 2023 monograph, American Patroness: Meaning Making at US Shrines to the Virgin Mary, explores intersections of gender, cultural identity, and religious symbolism in American Catholic contexts.
