Dr Karen Davison is a Lecturer in Building Technology and Materials at the Belfast School of Architecture and the Built Environment, Ulster University. She holds a BSc, MSc, and PhD, and serves as a PhD Postgraduate Tutor. Her work bridges architecture, urban design, and youth engagement in heritage conservation.

Her research explores how architectural space impacts youth identity, behavior, and wellbeing, emphasizing heritage conservation and sustainable urban design. Recent publications highlight topics like Energy Performance Certificates, social-ecological resilience, and youth participation in religious space regeneration.
Karen has secured grants from the AHRC and RIBA and contributes to interdisciplinary collaborations aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals. She is a proactive PhD supervisor and reviewer for the Journal of the Constructed Environment.
