Karen Boardman

Dr. Karen Boardman is the Head of Early Years Education and a Visiting Fellow at Forward As One Trust, focusing on early literacy, policy, and pedagogy for under-threes. Her research interests span child development, play, inclusion, and babies' rights. She holds an EdD from the University of Sheffield (2017) and is a Senior Fellow of the HEA, advocating for ECEC through roles like Chair of TACTYC and membership in BERA and EECERA.

Her teaching spans undergraduate, PGCE, and MA programs in Early Years Education. Key achievements include advancing early reading practices through international conferences and publications. She contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goal on education and leads initiatives like the Early Years Hub.
