Karen A. Thole is the Robert J. Vlasic Dean of Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where she is also a Professor in both Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering. Her groundbreaking research in heat transfer and cooling of gas turbine airfoils has significantly impacted propulsion and power generation design methodologies.
