Kan Wang

Dr. Kan Wang is a Global Professor of Biotechnology in the Department of Agronomy and Co-Director of the Crop Bioengineering Center at Iowa State University, USA. She specializes in plant genetic transformation and crop bioengineering.

• BS in Biochemistry from Fudan University, Shanghai, China
• PhD from Ghent University, Belgium, under Marc Van Montagu (2013 World Food Prize Laureate)

Her research focuses on advancing crop genetic engineering technologies, particularly in corn and soybean. She established the first public crop transformation facility at Iowa State University after 7 years in industry at Syngenta (formerly ICI Seeds).
