Dr. Kamila S. White is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of Missouri–St. Louis. Her research focuses on the intersection of anxiety disorders and physical health conditions, particularly in medical settings. She holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University (1999), an MS in clinical psychology from the same institution (1996), and a BS in Psychology from Kansas State University (1993).
Dr. White’s research explores prevention/treatment of anxiety, anxiety’s relationship with pain and cardiovascular health, and innovative assessment methods for anxiety in medical populations. Her current projects address anxiety’s role in non-cardiac chest pain, treatment outcomes for Panic Disorder patients with co-occurring physical ailments, and developmental risk factors for comorbid emotional/physical health issues. Her work is supported by the National Institute of Mental Health.
