Kamil Jakimowicz is a Lecturer in the Department of History of the 16th-19th Centuries and Eastern Europe at the Institute of History, Faculty of History and Archeology, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. His research focuses on 18th-century Polish history, urban and social dynamics within the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and historical geography.

His scholarly work spans municipal governance, political factions, and infrastructure studies, particularly analyzing road networks and roadside inns through narrative and cartographic sources. Recent publications examine 16th-18th-century communication systems, GIS-based historical reconstructions, and 18th-century civic-military interactions.
Scientific Awards: Recipient of 2024 and 2021 Rector's Awards at UMCS, and the 2016 Stanisław Herbst Prize for top master's theses.
Organizational roles include coordinating UMCS's "Day of the Historian" events (2019-2022), editing the Institute of History's website, and serving on the Council of Young Researchers at UMCS (2021-2025). His work integrates archival analysis, GIS methodologies, and interdisciplinary approaches to reconstruct early modern urban and political systems.
