Kameron Jorgensen is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), serving as ADVISE Title V, DOE Outreach and Internship Coordinator; ARDA Title V, DOE Co-Director; Joint Admissions Medical Program (JAMP) Faculty Director; Biology and Chemistry Faculty Senate Representative; and TAMIU ACS Student Chapter Advisor.
His research employs quantum mechanics and composite methods to calculate thermochemical properties including enthalpies of formation and bond dissociation energies for small compounds. Current projects focus on bromine halocarbons, organosulfur species, and nitrogen-based energetic materials with applications in weather prediction, decomposition pathways, enhanced energetic materials development, and drug design.
Publications from 2009-2023 reveal consistent advancement in computational thermochemistry, particularly in halocarbon energetics, CO2-amine interactions for carbon capture, and nitrogen compound reliability studies. His work demonstrates methodological innovation in basis set convergence and composite approaches across environmental and energetic materials chemistry.

- DOE/ARDA: $3,000,000 for ADVISE (2019-2023) and $3,000,000 for ARDA (2022-2027)
His research group operates three high-performance computing clusters: Franklin (14 DoD-funded nodes), Crunch (4 NSF-funded nodes), and Jorgensen Compute Cluster (14 dedicated nodes), enabling large-scale quantum chemistry simulations.
