Maria de Lourdes Viloria

Maria de Lourdes Viloria is an Assistant Professor in the College of Education at Texas A&M International University, where she teaches in the Department of Professional Programs and prepares future school principals. With 29 years of public school experience, her research focuses on culturally relevant leadership practices and third-generation Mexican American teachers.

Viloria's scholarship examines how cultural identity shapes teaching practices and educational leadership. Her work addresses bilingual education challenges and develops strategies for mentoring first-generation college students in STEM fields. She investigates how principals can create inclusive environments that respect cultural diversity while maintaining academic excellence.
