Kalliopi Chainoglou is a Lecturer (under appointment) at the Department of International and European Studies, University of Macedonia. Her academic career includes doctoral studies at King's College London (PhD in International Law, 2007) and prior education at the University of Essex and University College London. She has been active in legal practice since 2008 and has taught courses on International Law, European Governance, and Cultural Diplomacy across multiple institutions, including the University of Macedonia, University of Western Macedonia, and Alexandreio TEI of Thessaloniki.
Her research focuses on international law challenges related to terrorism, self-defense, human rights, and disability rights within European frameworks. Key projects include UN-backed research on aut dedere aut judicare principles in counter-terrorism contexts (2010), collaboration with UNESCO on intercultural policy research since 2007, and contributions to European legal harmonization initiatives (e.g., 2008 gender equality directive adaptation).
Publications span peer-reviewed journals, edited volumes, and UN reports, addressing topics like cyber warfare legal frameworks, disability rights protections, and reinterpreting self-defense doctrines in the modern security landscape.
