Dr Kalina Stamenova is a Lecturer at the University of Essex, affiliated with Essex Pathways. She holds a PhD from the University of Essex (2012). Her research focuses on psychoanalytic approaches to organizational behavior, virtual work environments, and learning dynamics, particularly exploring unconscious processes in professional and educational settings.
Current teaching includes courses like Understanding People and Society, Theory of Knowledge, and Introduction to Legal Theory. She supervises doctoral candidates in psychoanalytic studies, including Sara Khosravi. Notable past supervision includes Dimitra Theodoropoulou's 2024 thesis on art therapy in youth mental health.
Her recent work emphasizes the psychological dimensions of remote work and organizational culture. Articles published between 2013–2024 highlight studies on envy in educational groups, virtual work emotional dynamics, and methodologies for researching unconscious phenomena.
Dr Stamenova’s advising and grants focus on fostering critical analysis in students. She contributes to interdisciplinary discussions on applying psychoanalytic theory to modern contexts such as digital collaboration and workplace psychology.
