Dr. Kakan Dey is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan State University, College of Engineering. His research focuses on connected and automated mobility, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), machine learning modeling, and traffic safety. He has secured grants from NSF, USDOT, and multiple state DOTs. His work includes editing the textbook Data Analytics for Intelligent Transportation Systems and serving as an Associate Editor for IEEE and IET journals.
