Dr Kajally Jobe is a Visiting Lecturer in Industrial Chemistry at the University of Surrey's School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, part of the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. He is also the Head of R&D and Chemical Regulatory Affairs at Aspen Pumps Group. With a PhD from Queen Mary University of London (2013) and prior roles as an Innovate UK Research Associate (2014–2017), he bridges academic research and industrial innovation.
Education: BSc (Honours in Medicinal Chemistry, Wolverhampton, First Class), MSc (Synthetic Chemistry with Industrial Collaborations, University of Warwick), PhD (Chemistry, QMUL).
Research focuses on STEM-marketing interfaces, product development, and chemical sensors. His commercial innovations include CondenCide®, VerteX®, and HydroFoam® 2.0. He led a £220K Innovate UK-funded KTP project (2017), achieving 'Outstanding' status for enhancing UK/EU chemical product distribution networks.
Awards: Innovate UK’s Outstanding KTP Award (2017), Thieme SynFact 0725 of the Month (2011).
Grants/Projects: Spearheaded a 3-year KTP collaboration with Advanced Engineering Ltd, resulting in advanced product commercialization strategies. Actively mentors graduates and promotes STEM education through pedagogic initiatives.
Professional Affiliations: Chartered Chemist (CChem), Chartered Scientist (CSci), Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC), STEM Ambassador. Holds certifications in Lean 6-Sigma, Agile Project Management, and Professional Marketing.
