Dr. Kaitlyn McLachlan is an Associate Professor in the Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology (CCAP) program at the University of Guelph. Her research focuses on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and neurodevelopmental disabilities, particularly within criminal justice and forensic mental health contexts. She holds adjunct roles at McMaster University and collaborates with institutions such as the Peter Boris Centre for Addictions Research and the Mental Health Law and Policy Institute at Simon Fraser University.
Education: Dr. McLachlan completed her MA and PhD in clinical psychology at Simon Fraser University, with a forensic specialization. She held postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Alberta and the University of British Columbia.
Research: Her work emphasizes screening methods for FASD, neurobiological markers, and legal capacities of individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders. She leads the PLAN Lab, which develops interventions and policy solutions to improve outcomes for vulnerable populations.
