Kaitlin Couture

Kaitlin Couture serves as Simulation Lab Coordinator and Instructor in the Swain Department of Nursing at The Citadel's Swain Family School of Science and Mathematics. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing and is a Registered Nurse with extensive clinical and teaching experience in the nursing field.

Her educational background includes a baccalaureate nursing degree from Norwich University in Vermont and a master's degree in nursing education from Southern New Hampshire University. She brings valuable clinical expertise from emergency medicine and perioperative care settings to her academic role.

Couture specializes in simulation-based education methodologies, focusing on hands-on learning approaches for nursing students. Her teaching portfolio spans nursing fundamentals, health assessment, pharmacology, and medical surgical courses across LPN, ADN, and BSN programs. She is particularly passionate about developing effective simulation experiences that bridge classroom learning with clinical practice.

As an active member of the South Carolina Nursing Education Simulation Alliance, she contributes to statewide efforts to enhance nursing education through simulation technology and best practices. Her office is located in Byrd 319F, and she can be reached at (843) 953-1312.
