Kai Ambos

Prof. Kai Ambos holds the Chair for Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure, Comparative Law, International Criminal Law, and Public International Law at the University of Göttingen. He also serves as Head of the Institute of Criminal Sciences at the university.

Research Focus: His work spans core areas of criminal law, international law, and transitional justice mechanisms. He engages with contemporary global legal challenges in post-conflict societies and international criminal tribunals.

Publications: Recently contributed to debates about potential genocide in Gaza, analyzing legal frameworks for assessing state conduct during armed conflicts.
