Prof. Dr. Kadir ÖNK is a full-time Professor in the Department of Animal Husbandry and Nutrition at Kafkas University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. His academic journey includes a PhD in Animal Science (2009) and a Master's in Veterinary Parasitology (2003) from Kafkas University, and a Bachelor's in Animal Science from Yüzüncü Yıl University (1991).
His research focuses on:
- Poultry science (quail, duck, and goose nutrition/genetics)
- Sheep and cattle production systems
- Apiculture and queen bee biology
- Animal welfare and meat quality optimization
He has advised four Master's students on topics ranging from bee morphometrics to quail incubation techniques. His 85+ publications emphasize poultry physiology, alternative feed additives, and sustainable livestock systems, with recent work exploring oil supplements in quail diets and welfare assessments in dairy farms.
Awards include a 2015 Academic Service Certificate from the Ministry of Development. Administrative roles include serving as Department Head and Research Center Director at Kafkas University.
