KONSTANTINOS CHRISTODOULOU

Professor Konstantinos Christodoulou serves as Dean of the NKUA School of Law and holds the rank of Professor of Civil Law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He is also a member of the Greek Data Protection Authority and has served as an attorney for the Greek State at the European Court of Justice. His academic career includes roles from Adjunct Professor (1999) to Full Professor (2016), with teaching responsibilities covering General Civil Law, E-Commerce Law, and EU-Private Law methodologies. He has authored over 70 publications, including monographs on Data Protection, Electronic Juridical Acts, and Civil Partnership Law.

• Born in Athens (1962), he earned top scholarships throughout his studies at the University of Athens Law School, graduating with first-class honours. Holds doctorates in both Law (1998) and Philosophy (2010).
• Expertise spans Digital Law, Civil Obligations, and Bioethics. Served on legislative committees adapting Greek law to EU directives on electronic signatures and commerce.
• International collaborations include research at LMU Munich and Frankfurt University, presenting at SECOLA conferences and EU legal initiatives.

Research focuses on modernizing civil law frameworks for digital environments, balancing privacy rights with contractual freedoms. His work on personal data protection and electronic transactions has shaped Greek legal practices. Recent contributions address issues like civil partnership dissolution, liability for sports incidents, and bioethical dilemmas in medical autonomy.
