KATIE WARD

Dr. Katie Ward is a Clinical Professor in the College of Nursing at the University of Utah and an Adjunct Professor in Obstetrics & Gynecology. She holds a BSN (1986), MSN (1997), and DNP (2010) from the University of Utah. Her research focuses on women’s health, including contraceptive access, menstrual cycle behavior, and improving reproductive care. She has led grants funded by HRSA and DHHS, emphasizing women’s health and midwifery. Ward has authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles on topics like respectful maternity care, pandemic impact on birth practices, and IUD insertion techniques. Awards include the Academy of Health Science Educators Fellowship and Excellence in Practice from the University of Utah. She teaches advanced women’s health courses and has mentored students in clinical and research settings.
