Dr. K. Scott Delmain serves as a Professor of Practice in the Department of Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology within the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University. He joined the faculty in 2019, bringing extensive experience from his prior role as the founder of a feline-only hospital in Orlando, Florida, which he established in 1996 alongside his wife, Dr. Diane Delmain.
His educational qualifications include:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) from the University of Florida in 1986
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Florida in 1990
Dr. Delmain's academic expertise centers on veterinary anatomy, with a focus on feline anatomy and microanatomy. His professional background as a small animal and exclusively feline practitioner has fostered a specialized interest in veterinary dentistry for cats. He contributes significantly to the veterinary curriculum by lecturing on feline anatomy and assisting in the gross anatomy laboratories for the courses VMED 9111 (Veterinary Anatomy I) and VMED 9121 (Veterinary Anatomy II).
With a career spanning over two decades in private practice, Dr. Delmain transitioned to academia to share his practical knowledge with veterinary students, emphasizing the application of anatomical principles in clinical settings, particularly in feline medicine and dentistry.
