Dr. Mandy Wallace is an Associate Professor of Small Animal Surgery at the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine. She holds a DVM from Mississippi State University (summa cum laude), an MS in Veterinary Medical Sciences from the University of Florida (summa cum laude), and a BS in Biological Sciences from Mississippi State University (summa cum laude). Her postgraduate training includes a Small Animal Surgery Residency at the University of Florida, a PennHIP Research Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, and an internship at Colorado State University.
Her research focuses on hepatic vascular anomalies, septic peritonitis, novel wound treatments, and biomaterials for soft tissue surgery. She is board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) and serves on the executive board of the Veterinary Wound Management Society and the ACVS Foundation Board of Trustees.
Dr. Wallace has taught courses in veterinary surgery, gross anatomy, and advanced surgical techniques at the University of Florida. Her publications emphasize innovations in surgical devices, postoperative outcomes, and minimally invasive approaches. Her work spans canine and feline surgeries, including advancements in laparoscopic procedures and venous occlusion technologies.
